Developing Urban Environment in Riyadh

The project aims to develop 4 main locations with a total length of 14 km, starting from the surveying and initial design phase to the preparation of tender documents. In addition, it includes preparing reports on the current status and design decisions for 35 sub-locations in Riyadh City.

The project encompasses the development of four primary locations within Riyadh City, spanning a total distance of 14 kilometers. This comprehensive initiative involves a meticulous process that commences with detailed surveying and progresses to the formulation of initial design concepts. The project scope extends to the preparation of comprehensive tender documents, essential for the procurement of necessary resources and services.

Client’s Goals

In addition to the development of the four main gardens locations Al-Faryan, Al-Rawdah, Mohammed bin Qasim, Al-Maghazrat, the project also entails a thorough assessment of 35 secondary sites within Riyadh City. This component involves the creation of detailed reports that accurately document the current conditions of these sites. Furthermore, the project will establish definitive design parameters for each of these 35 sub-locations, providing a clear roadmap for future development efforts.

This includes incorporating green infrastructure, such as parks, green roofs, and pedestrian-friendly zones, to improve air quality, reduce urban heat island effects, and enhance overall livability. The project will also prioritize energy-efficient building designs and sustainable transportation options to minimize the environmental impact of these rapidly developing areas.

Furthermore, the project seeks to preserve Riyadh’s cultural heritage while integrating modern urban planning principles. By conducting thorough assessments of the existing environment, the project will identify opportunities to incorporate traditional architectural elements and local materials into the new developments. This approach will help maintain the city’s unique character and create a sense of place. Additionally, the project will focus on creating vibrant and inclusive public spaces that cater to the needs of diverse communities, fostering a strong sense of belonging and social cohesion.
